HTC just launched their Flagship phones and they are impressive. Recall that last year, HTC unveiled the U11 dubbed as the bendable phone, now, we have its successor!
Apart from the introduction of its Flagship phone, HTC also launched its Lower price phone, the HTC U11 Life, with a little difference in specs and price from other U11 phones.
Now, lets look at what the Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC has for us with their Flagship phones. First the HTC U11 Plus and then the HTC U11 Life!
HTC U11 Plus
It comes with a 6in 18:9 aspect ratio LCD technology as in the U11 with promotes more clearer and sharp images emerging from its phone screen. With its 2880 x 1440 screen resolution.
Not to worry, it also comes with the rumored edge-to-edge screen with the screen-to-body ratio over 82 percent. And it comes with Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
The handset is fashioned from metal and glass, and the body is IP68 water and dust proof too. Measurements are 158.5 x 74.9 x 8.5mm, and the weight is 188g.
The phone has silver or black options, translucent colour. On the software, you have get 4GB of RAM with 64GB of onboard storage, or 6GB of RAM with 128GB. Either option nets you microSD support as well. The battery is rated at 3,930mAh and supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.
The rumored processor is still there, Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and it runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with the HTC Sense UI on top, it also has the Edge Sense feature on the lower surround which allows you to squeeze the phone to launch certain apps or features
On the camera level, you have the 12MP UltraPixel 3 sensor with optical image stabilisation (OIS) an f/1.7 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, UltraSpeed autofocus, and a dual-LED flash. Video capture is 1080p at 120fps, or 4K recording with Hi-Res audio.
On the front there’s also an 8 MP sensor with an 85-degree wide angle FOV and an f/2.0 aperture; it supports 1080p video recording.
HTC U11 Life
It comes with the HTC’s new “liquid surface” design language with two exceptionally glossy panels that meld into a metal frame. Comes with a 16:9 display, fingerprint scanner, and buttons for back and recent apps.
The U11 Life also has the same IP67 water and dust resistance as its more expensive sibling and oh yea, it support for HTC’s Edge Sense.
In Summary, the HTC U11 Life comes with a 5.2 inches, and has a 1080p resolution instead of the 2K panel on the higher-end model.
On the software level, it comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (in the US, a 4GB / 64GB model will also be available globally), plus microSD card support.
Both front and rear cameras have 16 megapixels of resolution and f/2.0 aperture lenses, but no optical stabilization. The phone is powered by a 2,600mAh battery and comes with a 10 watt charger in the box.
Article Before the Launch
After the launch of the HTC U11, which is dubbed as the “Squeezable smartphone” HTC is planning on launching the professional version.
Speaking at an interview, president of global sales for HTC, Zhang Jia Lin revealed that the company was working on a new flagship phone with a full-screen display which should launch not later than a month from now. Sources say it will be called the HTC U11 Plus.
The upcoming phone from HTC is the U11 Plus! Anyway, Google was rumored to purchase the HTC Smartphone business instead, it turns out that they only paid $1.1 billion for the HTC engineering team that worked on the Pixels.
Reports says that is about $500,000 for each member of the team in addition to a separate non-exclusive license for HTC intellectual property.
Rumors also has it that, HTC U11 Plus Will Feature a Snapdragon 835 and Will Also Ship With Facial Recognition. HTC plans to announce a high-end smartphone in November.
And also, if the phone is launched as rumored, it will become HTC’s first handset to sport a near-bezel-less screen -which is the latest trend for smartphone- a 5.99-inch display with 1440 x 2880 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio.
The HTC U11 Plus might also spots a 4 GB / 6 GB of RAM and 64 GB / 128 GB of storage space, dust- and water-resistant (IP68), wireless charging and a 12 MP rear camera, an 8 MP front-facing camera, and HTC’s Edge Sense feature.
